Ryan Field
Ever wondered what it takes to build the biggest college football stadium project ever? Hint: a whole lot of steel.
Northwestern University’s new Ryan Field--one of the Midwest’s largest active steel jobs--features a striking canopy of white-painted steel trusses covering the entire seating area. Nine massive modular canopy sections were assembled on the ground and hoisted into place, with help from the largest active crane in the Chicago area.
