A draft of the next edition of the AISC Specification for Structural Stainless Steel Buildings (AISC 370) is now available for public review and comment.
The next edition of AISC 370 will supersede the 2021 edition.
Proposed updates to the standard include:
- Improvements to the provisions on specifying alloys
- Requirements for what to include in design documents and specifications
- New flexural design requirements for singly symmetric I-shaped members and single angles
- Updates to the determination of shear strength of stainless steel bolts
- Updates to inelastic design requirements, based on the latest research
