Internship Opportunities at AISC
The American Institute of Steel Construction is accepting applications from students enrolled in structural, architectural, or civil engineering programs for a paid internship position at AISC's headquarters in downtown Chicago. Students may apply for a full-time summer internship, a part-time (minimum 15 hours per week) internship that takes place during the school year, or both. AISC interns support the AISC Engineering and Research Department and Education Department.
Qualified applicants:
- Will be enrolled in either a Master’s degree curriculum or at least the third year of a Bachelor of Science curriculum.
- Will have completed at least one course in structural steel design.
- Should be planning to continue with their education as follows:
- For a summer internship, planning to enroll in coursework the following fall.
- For a school year internship, graduating sometime after the internship.
- Are authorized to work in the United States.
Duties and responsibilities will include:
- Developing technical resources for structural steel design.
- Writing multiple choice quizzes to accompany recorded lectures on structural steel design and construction.
- Proofreading drafts of educational material such as slides, standards, teaching aids, design guides, and other resources for technical accuracy.
